With the increasing incidence of mental illness, Auseinet supports consumer and carer networks to promote the implementation of approaches that focus on:

  • recovery (the ability to live well with a mental illness)
  • community resilience
  • community wellbeing
  • effective early treatment
  • relapse prevention.

Auseinet’s role

Auseinet focuses on consumer and carer issues by:

  • facilitating the exchange of perspectives and information between networks nationally
  • providing perspectives of people who use mental health services, their families and carers
  • working with ‘champions’ in local areas
  • developing resources to assist consumers and carers
  • providing access to information, research and key contacts.
