AIHW Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander Health and Welfare Unit

Provides statistics and information on the health and welfare of Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander peoples.

Australian Indigenous Health Promotion Knowledge Network

This organisation supports education and professional development, networking, and advocacy amongst 'Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander health promotion practitioners, researchers and policy makers'. Most areas require member login (free registration).

Australian Indigenous HealthInfoNet

(Website)

Covers a wide range of issues relevant to Indigenous health and wellbeing, including cultural, social, historical and economic issues, as well as those relating to the physical environment.

Australians for Native Title and Reconciliation

An independent, national network of mainly non-Indigenous organisations and individuals working in support of justice for Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander peoples. Contains information about health and wellbeing.

Centre for Aboriginal Economic Policy Research (CAEPR)

Research centre with a primary focus on Indigenous Australian economic policy and economic development issues, including native title and land rights, social justice, and the socioeconomic status of Indigenous Australians.

Cooperative Research Centre for Aboriginal Health

The centre's aim is to provide a cross-cultural environment for strategic research leading to: evidence-based improvements in education and health practice; a more highly-skilled health workforce; more effective health services; and reconciliation between Aboriginal and Western perspectives on health.

Curtin Indigenous Research Centre (CIRC)

Cuz Congress

Indigenous Psychological Services

Provides psychology specific services for Indigenous people in Australia. IPS provides clinical and assessment work in mental health for Indigenous clients and training for both Indigenous and non-Indigenous people. IPS further supports these services with continuing culturally appropriate and scientifically sound research into the particular needs of Aboriginal people and the ongoing development of resources.

The site is part of the 'Koori Access Program' within the Australian Drug Foundation, which aims to increase the 'relevance and accessibility of DrugInfo Clearinghouse information and services'.

Mensline

Telephone counselling for men who are dealing with family and relationship difficulties, particularly surrounding family break-down or separation. with special sites for young, Indigenous, Arabic and Vietnamese men.

National Aboriginal Community Controlled Health Organisation (NACCHO)

The national peak Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander health body. It has a membership of around 100 Aboriginal community controlled health services throughout Australia, which operate in urban, rural and remote areas.
NACCHO represents the health interests of Aboriginal communities at the national level. It promotes holistic and culturally appropriate health to Aboriginal communities.
